An environment fit for office experts

Office Environments’ business is creating streamlined and functional workplaces, and making them look darn good.    Office Environments, one of the largest Steelcase dealers in the Southeast, needed a bright, clean canvas to showcase their wares.  The vision was to create large open areas where the employees and their clients could interact with the products.

Tyler 2 was the obvious choice to overhaul the offices and showroom for this furniture sales and workplace services provider.

The challenge:

The space needed light.  So the architect flooded the space with light by adding a row of new 12-foot windows in the break room and cutting into the front corner of the building with a sizeable new storefront.

The overall design incorporated a combination of pre-fabricated feature walls and a demountable wall system.  It sounds simple but there was a catch.   Both wall types were to arrive fully finished. They would need to fit seamlessly into the already constructed walls and ceilings, leaving very little room for error.

The end result:

Tyler 2 removed the corner of a building at an artistic slant which required both strength and finesse.  This required careful planning to keep the building secure while installing temporary shoring which allowed us to cut the opening, install structural steel supports, field measure for new storefront system and re-secure the building in minimal time, right smack in the middle of winter.

Extreme care was taken with the coordination, layout, and construction of the drywall soffits and lay-in ceilings.  The result was success!  Tyler 2 proved that the extra attention pays off; this time by preparing for the pre-fabricated walls’ arrival and avoiding any need for re-work.
