Construction is underway for East Carolina University School of Dentistry’s Community Service Learning Center on the Davidson County Community College campus. The facility, one of 10 planned by ECU, will provide easier, more affordable access to dental care for the historically underserved population around the state.

The 7,900 square foot stand-alone brick veneer on steel frame building will house clinical space with 16 patient chairs, seminar and video conferencing area, and study space for the dental students on rotation.  Integrated technology will ensure advanced connectivity to the main dental school building in Greenville, as well as the other nine Community Service Learning Centers.

The service learning center is set to begin accepting patients from Davidson County next summer. Tyler 2 is currently completing the under slab utilities and steel erection is set to begin on December 12th.
